Directorate of Public Libraries-a department functioning under the

Ministry of School Education, Government of Tamilnadu,has 4028 libraries

under its umbrella. These 4028 libraries are catagorised in to various types

right from State library through District Central Library with its

branches scattered all over the 32 districts in the state.

The OPAC of Connemara state Library, and the 32 District Central

Libraires along with Centralized OPAC are made available for public by

the DPL. Around 3 million records are put up in the catalog for

the public access through internet.

Different features like,online renewal,reservation, searching etc

can be enjoyed by the members/visitors of the libraries.
